This year's House Tour offered more than 700 participants the opportunity to explore, at their leisure, seven outstanding private properties and homes throughout the Hills of Headwaters, then stop into the beautifully decorated OAS Event Centre where they shopped at the Vendor Market Place, participated in the raffle of six exciting prizes and enjoyed a fantastic gourmet lunch with food provided by local chefs. The House Tour's silent auction was featured online again this year, making it possible for the entire community to bid on the 240 donated auction prizes. The home owners and more than 300 loyal sponsors, donors and contributors must be thanked for making this year's House Tour such a memorable success. As always, it was the dedicated volunteers who made it happen. The core group of 21 volunteers on the 2015 Headwaters House Tour Committee worked hard for 11 months to plan the event. In addition, the crew of extra volunteers who came in the day of the tour to help at the hall, in the homes, and with parking made the total add up to close to 100 people who helped make it a perfect day. The Headwaters House Tour proceeds contribute to Headwaters Health Care Auxiliary's $750,000 five year pledge to the Commitment to Care Campaign, launched in October 2012 in partnership with Headwaters Health Care Foundation. Since 1995 the Headwaters House Tour fundraising event has raised $667,358 for new hospital equipment. The Headwaters Health Care Auxiliary, with approximately 240 volunteers, is an integral part of Headwaters Health Care Centre. In addition to their patient support, the Auxiliary helps raise funds for hospital equipment purchases through a number of events and activities, the House Tour being one of them. Other community and fundraising events of the Auxiliary are the Teddy Bear Clinic, Candy Cane Fair, quilt raffle, used book sales, the main level coffee bar and gift shop at the hospital, and the new thrift store Seconds Count, at 127 Broadway in Orangeville, which opened in October 2014. All the proceeds from the fundraising efforts flow through to the Headwaters Health Care Foundation. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2016-02-03 14:04:26 Post date GMT: 2016-02-03 19:04:26 Post modified date: 2016-02-04 12:56:14 Post modified date GMT: 2016-02-04 17:56:14 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
