Hall’s varsity football squad blunts the Arrows 27-0Harold van der Veen was forcing his way through the Arrows' line in Friday's match. Photo courtesy of Chelleshots Photography Submitted by Jason Sweeney The Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School football squad spent part of Friday handing their Fletcher's Meadows Secondary School opponents a miserable afternoon. The Hall Wolfpack continued their ROPSSAA play in Brampton, aiming to ensure that the Fletcher's Meadows Arrows missed their mark. The result was a 27-0 win for Hall. Hall's defence started off strong, forcing the Arrows to go two and out. With good special-team play by Philip Hasfal and Nick Ristucci, Hall's offence continually started their drives with good field position. On their opening drive, Curtis Fillier broke a long run to score a touchdown to open the scoring. Two series later, Jordan Baggio would be rewarded for defensive perseverance as he jumped on a fumble in the end zone to score the game's second TD. Ristucci and Jordan Celik would shut down the Arrows' air attack, and Dalton Lisso and Cameron Gardilcic would stuff the run. Quarterback Jake Smith would hook up with Connor Reiners and Sean Clapperton in the air, with Clapperton scoring the game's third TD. Kicker Gabriel Siemieniec would round out the scoring with three converts and two field goals, as well as providing some booming punts. Hall's next game is tomorrow (Friday) as the Wolfpack will welcome the Cardinal Ambrozic River Hawks to their Feast of St. Francis of Assissi Homecoming game at noon. |
