Hall recognizes top academic achievers

It was a time for celebrating last Wednesday night at Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School in Caledon East.
The school hosted its annual Achievement Awards Night.
“This is a great evening,” Principal Tom Wisnicki told the packed gym at the school, as he urged the students who were being recognized to be proud of their achievements, hard work and perseverance.
He also urged the parents who were on hand to be proud of what their kids have accomplished.
As well, Wisnicki said there are expectations on the kids to maintain their success.
“Congratulations to all of you,” he declared. “You deserve it. Well done.”
The evening included recognizing students who made the Honour Roll last year. They accomplished this by averaging 80 per cent in their courses. There were 75 Grade 9 students honoured, 52 from Grade 10 and 50 from Grade 11. As well, there were prizes handed out for achievements in various subjects.
The students recognized for the highest overall average were Gabriel Ferreira (Grade 9), Bolaoluwatito Adesiyan (Grade 10) and Brigida DiMatteo (Grade 11).
The recipient of the ERW Award was Emilie Correa. The Zonta Club Award went to Michelle Ogley. The Spirit Awards  were presented to Daniel Reale (Grade 9), Christina McArthur (Grade 10) and Rebecca Warrian (Grade 11). The School Council Award went to Liam Sutherland.
