Fair held from June 9 to 11 at Caledon Fairgrounds

While summer doesn't start until June 21, it sure felt like it already had last weekend.

From Friday, June 9 to Sunday, June 11 the Caledon Fair was held at the Caledon Fairgrounds in Caledon Village.

Featuring Bavarian gardens, midway attractions, vendors, delicious food and more, the event drew crowds out to enjoy the weather and their community over the weekend. 

There was a tractor pull and live music on Friday evening, and on Saturday, there was a British antique car show, more live music, the official fair opening, and a demolition derby. Sunday featured events like chainsaw carving and horse, pony, cattle, and dog shows.

This year marked the Caledon Fair's 161st anniversary and its theme was “Udderly Dairylicious.”

Ed Taccone, chair of the Caledon Agricultural Society, said each year the Caledon Fair is family fun and rural charm at its best. He said it's a showcase for Caledon's heritage, agricultural industry, and talented residents. 

“It is a great opportunity to meet friends and neighbours, to share conversations about times past and to exchange thoughts and dreams for the future of our community,” said Taccone in a message on caledonfair.ca. “Our sincere appreciation goes to our members, sponsors and community supporters who help us throughout the year.”
