It was a great day to be in Cheltenham last Saturday. The occasion was the annual Cheltenham Day, attracting lots of people who came out for the fun. It was a hot day, so a great way to cool off was to enter the annual Tube Race in the Credit River.

The Soap Box Derby saw Scott McElhone, 11, take the senior championship, while Joey Jacome, 8, won the junior title.

Wayne Melnechuk and Sheri Fowler were in charge of dumping the ducks into the river for the popular Duck Race.

Caledon Parent-Child Centre had an assortment of summertime crafts to be worked on. Katherine Taylor of Belfountain was helping her daughter Kayla work on her creation.

There was lots of food available, courtesy of the local firefighters. George Newhouse was among those handling the barbecuing chores.

What would Cheltenham Day be without the Pie-Eating Contest. Clara Cahill, 9, of Milton was showing her prowess in the heat for the younger set. Her talent must run in the family, because her father Tom took the championship.
