Get rewarded for helping Caledon get ahead

With the Use Less Water phase of the Let Your Green Show campaign coming to a close Aug. 31, the Town of Caledon encourages residents to register water-saving actions online in an effort to help turn the Region of Peel green.
The Town reports that by doing so, residents can choose from six “greenback” rewards, and every action registered also enters participants into a monthly draw to win one of two great prizes — a Glen Echo gift basket or a rain barrel.
The Use Less Water challenge is the second phase of the campaign, encouraging residents of Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga to commit to practical, water-saving actions. Some of these actions include installing a high-efficiency showerhead, growing a plant that requires little water, installing a water-efficient toilet, using a rain barrel, checking the home for leaks, etc.
By completing these actions, participants can choose from several “greenback” rewards, such as a free family pass to a Credit Valley Conservation or Toronto and Region Conservation Authority conservation area or $5 off at the Caledon Farmers' Market. To register, visit www.letyourgreenshow.ca and select “Get Started.”
Besides the incentive of a selection of various rewards, residents help turn Peel green with every action they register. Residents are encouraged to check out the map of Peel on the website, which shows how much activity is taking place in each ward across the Region. In the fall, Caledon's winning ward will be celebrated.
