Ron Sampson scored a goal and set up two more for George's in a 4-2 win over the Jiffy Lube Oilers. In the other games at the Caledon Community Complex last Monday (Sept. 15), Bolton Chiropractic Centre whipped Rutherford Global Logistics 6-1 and Yale Industrial Trucks edged Fines Ford Lincoln 5-4. George's 4, Jiffy Lube 2 Sampson assisted on goals by Maurizo Giorgio and George Armstrong. Both Giorgio and Armstrong also chipped in one assist each. Bret Smith scored the other goal for the winners. Dave Smith added an assist. Tony Dinis scored a goal and added an assist to lead Jiffy Lube. Rich Petrie scored their other goal. Bolton Chiropractic 6, Rutherford 1 Team sponsor Mike (Dr. Bend) Shore missed the first game of the season, but made his debut in style in the second week with a hat trick for the Chiropractors. Johnny Van Wagner showed he has not lost a step, with a goal and an assist. Bruno Fracassi and Gary Stewart scored the other goals. Rick Agar had two assists for Bolton Chiropractic with singles coming from Howard Wight, Larry Pevato, John Crossley, Paul Speck and David Shoalts. Nick Rotundo spoiled Chiropractic goaltender Vanni DiMarco's bid for a shutout with a goal in the third period on an assist from Bernie Tisdale. Yale 5, Fines Ford 4 Garth Young and Randy Freitag drove the bus for Yale with two goals each. Team rep Jim Dunbar provided three assists while Steve Tarasco had a goal and an assist. John Castellucci clicked for two assists while Dan Tasson and Scott Woodcock had one each. Dan Labine scored twice for Fines Ford while Jack Gibson and Rod Sinclair both had a goal and an assist. Danny Avram showed off his new trim figure with two assists. Bill Davis and Chris Spilar each had one assist. Sept. 8 Bret Smith showed his summer conditioning program was a success the opening night of the league's 2014-15 season. The slick centre for George's skated his way through Bolton Chiropractic for four goals and two assists in a 7-3 win Sept. 8 at the Caledon Community Complex. In the other games, Rutherford blanked Yale 5-0 and Jiffy Lube doubled Fines Ford 6-3. George's 7, BCC 3 Greg Farrow and Jim Rogers also had big nights for George's with four points each. Farrow clicked for two goals and two assists while Rogers set up four goals. Bill Moyer had a goal and an assist with Clark Judge, Dave Smith and Bob Hounsome each getting a single assist. CSHL rookie Crossley led the Chiropractors with two goals and an assist. Fracassi added a goal and an assist while Mark Perrin, Jeff Boyles, Stewart and Pevato had single assists. Rutherford 5, Yale 0 Jim Horan and Ted Callighen both scored two goals for Rutherford to spoil Al McFadyen's debut as a CSHL sponsor with his Yale Trucks crew in their spiffy orange uniforms. Santino Paglia notched the shutout for the winners. Dave Boyd and Rotundo had two assists each for Rutherford while Gary Hoxey had a goal and an assist. Bob Smith, Vince Vavaro and Bob McHardy notched single assists. Jiffy Lube 6, Fines Ford 3 Team rep Petrie was the star for Jiffy Lube with three goals and an assist. Joe Palumbo had a goal and an assist while Jim Schaefer and Dom Orazio scored the other goals. Luch Pinarello, Mike McNamara and Bill Doherty each had two assists. Goaltender Paul Garde led a parade of his teammates with one assist each. The others were Robert Masutti, Dinis and Steve Sanderson.
