George’s has twice the points as runners up in ball hockeyGeorge's Arena Sports continue to lead the way in the inglewood Ball Hockey league. They posted the only win in June 2 action, notching their seventh victory to one loss. Moving to Caledon East, every team seemed ready to rumble and got away from playing the game. June 2 Ron's Tire Discounters 3 Caledon Hills Cycling 3 In the first tie of the year for any team, neither one could stay out of the sin bin long enough to better the other. The ball bangers on Ron's Tire were Joshua D'Eri from Jed Franco, D'Eri from Dill Hesketh, and Franco from Josh Rowland. Caledon Hills Cycling peddlers were Kelvin Young from Terry Masters, Peter Christie from Matt White, and Kyle Dalcin (unassisted). George's Arena Sports 3 Carney Plumbing 1 In another penalty-filled tilt, George's were able to pull out the win. Scorers for George's were Mike Volpe from Luigi D'Agostino and Ferdinando Colella, Anthony Villari from Colella, and Sunny Gill from Joe Christiano and D'Agostino. Carney's lone lamp light was Scott Churly from Jesse Rooyakkers. It was a close match the previous Tuesday, but George's was able to edge Ron's Tire to take pul farther ahead in the standings. The other mach saw Carney drop Caledon Hills 5-2. May 26 George's Arena Sports 5 Ron's Tire Discounter 4 In a nail-biter, Ron's rolled back in the third period with three goals, but came up just a little short, giving George's the win. Net nabbers for George's were Matt Scida, D'Agostino (hat trick) and Nick Franseze, with helpers from the sticks of Colella, Villari, Matt Chiarantano and Gill. Ron's rollers were Franco, D'Eri (with two) and Rowland, with assists from D'Eri, Tony Sousa, Kyle Bachorski (goalie) and Rowland. Carney Plumbing 5 Caledon Hills Cycling 2 Carney finally had most of the team show up and were able to stop the leaks and pull out a win. Lamp lights for Carney were Rooyakkers from Crystal Janes and Brian Dunn, Jeff Rumbolt from Justin Wellar and Churly, Rumbolt from Churly and Dunn, Churly from Wellar and Rumbolt, and Churly from Wellar and Peter Davis. Caledon Hills go-to guys were Christie from Travis Cassar, and Cassar from Christie and Kyle Young. It was easy to remember the final scores in May 19 action, as both matches ended 4-1. The results saw George's take a four-point lead, while Carney notched a win to tighten up the rest of the standings. |
