Fun and information at Brampton Fall Fair




No, this wasn't the parking lot at the Brampton Fair Grounds. It was the scene of Saturday's Demolition Derby, which attracted a large crowd for the evening.The weather wasn't always cooperative, but that couldn't completely dampen the spirit behind the 162nd Brampton Fall Fair, which was held over the weekend at the Fair Grounds in Caledon. But Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day, and that helped bring the crowd out. Photos by Bill Rea

The Grand Champion Female in the Holstein Show was Hilda, an eight-year-old mature cow shown by Matt Williamson, representing the Christie family. On hand for the award presentation was Peel-Dufferin Queen of the Furrow Natalie Vink, Marsha Christie and judge Doug Peart of Hagersville.

Friday night included a Garden Tractor pull. Neil Boyes of Caledon pulled the sled 174.6 feet in the Pro Stock 1050 class.

Matthew and Eden Kurz of Southfields Village were pretty impressed with some of the old-fashion toys being shown by Old Britannia Schoolhouse.

People at the fair got to try this virtual driving machine, set up by the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Melissa Ringuette explained it helps warn people with examples of staged collisions.
