Former councillor dies

Former Caledon councillor Murray Judge has died.
He died Monday. Friday had been his 86th birthday.
Mr. Judge had served on the council of the former Township of Chinguacousy. He was appointed area representative on Caledon council for Ward 2 in 1985, filling the vacancy created by the death of Bill Hunter. He was re-elected in 1985 and ‘88.
He also served as Director of the Ontario Milk Transport Association, and owned and operated a milk transport company.
“Murry Judge proudly served as a member of the Town of Caledon council from 1985 to 1991,” Mayor Allan Thompson reflected. “I remember talking to him on his milk delivery runs, milk truck politics so to speak. He was someone that I and many others looked up to as an honest, hard-working and active member of the community.
He is survived by his wife Valerie, sons Kevin (Cheryl), Kent (Connie) and Kelly (Beverley), as well as Valerie's daughters Shelley Holmes and Dawn Sullivan, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery, 10061 Chinguacousy Rd. Services for Mr. Judge will be Friday at 11 a.m in the Chapel at the Funeral Home.
