Five community groups awarded funds from 2026 Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament

The Town of Caledon announced August 12 five recipients of grants from the 2026 Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament.

These grants are used to help provide funding to local non-profits in the Caledon community. 

The five recipients of this grant are Caledon Agricultural Society (CAS), Caledon Community Services (CCS), Caledon Elementary Academy (CEA), Renewed Hope, and Headwaters Health Care Centre Foundation (HHCCF). 

These non-profits are using the grants to fund specific needs that established when each organization applied to be a part of the program.

This includes funding building a new community centre for CAS, an accessible transit vehicle for CCS, educational resources and capital improvements for CEA, facility renovations for Renewed Hope, and medical equipment such as scanners and an EKG machine for HHCCF. 

The 2026 Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament Grant is just one of many grants that the Town of Caledon offers to help out non-profits and businesses year-round to provide funds that they may not be able to secure on their own. 

“It is wonderful we have multiple primary grant recipients this year,” says Mayor Annette Groves. “Each of these organizations has an important role in our community and they improve the quality of life in Caledon. This tournament is helping improve the lives of others by funding programs and services that may not otherwise be possible.” 

Members of the Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament were also in attendance to congratulate the recipients on receiving this grant.

CCCGT Committee Chair Councillor and Ward 6 Councillor Cosimo Napoli and CCCGT Vice Chair Councillor and Ward 4,5 & 6 Councillor Mario Russo spoke to attendees about the award and what it means to invest in Caledon. 

“As Chair of the 2026 Caledon Community Council Golf Tournament, it is a privilege to support fundraising efforts that advance these meaningful causes, said Napoli. “The requests we received have a positive impact across Caledon.” 

“The funds raised through this tournament are an investment in our community and in Caledon's future,” said Russo. “We were impressed by the quality of the application received and the CCCGT funds will enable these initiatives to become a reality”. 

Glenda Simeone at the Caledon Agricultural Society shared the impact of the funds will have on the organization, which is using their grant to support the creation of a new Community Centre to be built on the Fairgrounds. 

This grant is just one of the funds that are being used to help build the centre and they are hopeful to be able to raise enough money to begin creating the community facility as there is currently no existing indoor recreational space on the Fairgrounds. 

“We are very grateful to have received these funds from the Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament Committee to assist in building the new Community Centre,” says Simeone. 

The Town of Caledon has been contributors to the Caledon Agricultural Society since 1926 and were one of the funders that allowed the agricultural society to buy the present fairgrounds at the outset. As well, in the present, they maintain and assist with maintenance of the play structure on the Fairgrounds and are supportive of CAS. 

“We are always happy to participate with the Town of Caledon and to be able to be granted funds from the 2026 Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament Grant is just wonderful”, says Simeone.
