Fishing derby play promises laughs

The Tipling Stage Company is offering the funniest comedy about fishing for a monster catfish ever to be seen.
Norm Foster's The Great Kooshog Lake Hollis McCauley Fishing Derby is playing at Grace Tipling Hall in Shelburne Feb. 19 to 27 and (to paraphrase the slogan for another worthy drive) it's worth the drive to Shelburne.
The cast and crew have been busy rehearsing and preparing for the production for weeks and they're still collapsing into helpless giggles in and out of character. That's how funny some of the lines in this play are — make that just about all the lines.
This will be the third Foster play performed in Shelburne and it certainly looks as if area residents will be happy to see many more. His plays are so popular that they're even starting a Norm Foster Festival in St. Catharines this summer with Foster himself appearing in the premier production. The festival slogan is Humour with a Heart, and that's exactly why everybody loves these hilariously funny plays which, between the laughs, provide the glimpses of situations, personalities and relationships with which audience members immediately identify.
Tickets for the production are $15 and are available from Shelburne Town Hall or online at www.tiplingstagecompany.com
Group tickets are discounted for party bookings of 10 or more, so how about a family outing? Details are available on the website.
