First Cheers Caledon generated plenty of cheer

For an inaugural event, last Friday's Cheers Caledon was a big success. It's estimated that 1,200 people attended to sample some locally brewed beer and cider, and have a good time in the process. Mayor Allan Thompson was on hand to welcome everyone to Cheers Caledon, accompanied by Caledon Councillors Jennifer Innis, Johanna Downey, Barb Shaughnessy, Gord McClure and Nick de Boer, as well as Councillor Michael Palleschi of Brampton.

Shanelle Orie and Josie-Lee Gibson were serving cider from Spirit Tree Estate.

James Windsor and Gail Winters of the Alton area Goodlot Farmstead Brewery were serving up their product to the thirsty crowd.

Marketing Intern Delaney Keys of Pommies Cider Co. of Bolton was tapping some of their product.

There were plenty of patrons ready to try some of the beer from brewmaster Stefan Riedelsheimer of Caledon Hills Brewing Company.

There was lots of food at Cheers Caledon. Howard Beckett and James de Wet of Howard the Butcher in Caledon East were busy keeping up with the demand.
