English hurls Dodgers to 2-1 record with 6-0 win

By Jake Courtepatte
It's been a roller coaster of a season for the Bolton Dodgers AA-baseball team, and they're only three games in.
The Dodgers were the victims of some solid base-running after being lit up by single after single in their only game last week, an 8-0 loss to the Ivy Leafs.
After a week's rest, they took to the field at their home park of North Hill in Bolton to take on the Angus Black Sox, both teams entering the game with 1-1 records.
Despite lasting just 2.2 innings in the season opener, the Dodgers went back to starting pitcher Shawn English, having seen his fair share of North Dufferin Baseball League action.
English didn't disappoint, bouncing back for a shutout game, with the Dodgers lighting up Sox pitcher Walley in his first start of the season. Final score was 6-0.
After a fairly vacant start to the NDBL schedule for the Dodgers, the Bolton squad will be put to work in the next few weeks with a handful of games.
They will be looking to boost their stats when hosting the Nobleton Cornhuskers Wednesday, who are still looking for their first win of the season.
If you're looking for some weekend ball, the Dodgers will be in Barrie Sunday for an afternoon matchup with the Angels.
