Editorial — Something they’ll always remember

Granted, it wasn't the biggest story of the week, but for those involved, we think it represents one of the best days they'll ever have, and one they'll always remember.
The football team of Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School in Caledon East capped an impressive undefeated season last Wednesday by taking the Tier 2 ROPSSAA championship. It was a thriller too, as they bested the Cardinal Ambrozic Riverhawks by just a single point.
Again we grant that's not a terribly big deal in the great scheme of things, especially to those of us old enough to have other things on our minds. We need to cast our thoughts back a couple of years and recall what it was like to cheer your school's team to victory. Many of us have such terrific memories, and others have been further blessed to have actually played on such teams.
It's easy to say that such memories will lose their meaning as the years go by, but we would argue to the contrary.
Who among us does not like to think back to the good days of our youth? Granted, it was not always a load of laughs, but we all know that living as an adult is not a case of none-stop fun either.
We hope the members of that championship team take time to reflect on what they accomplished over the last several weeks, and savour their success. Happy moments like that are meant to be remembered.
