Dufferin Bard of Trade selects Bethell HospiceThe Dufferin Board of Trade (DBOT) Golf Committee has announced that Bethell Hospice has been selected as the beneficiary of this year's Play Local Golf Tournament silent auction on August 23rd. The Tournament is entering its 28th year and brings together the business community for a day of fun, networking, and giving back. Each year the tournament holds a silent auction and donates the proceeds to the charity of choice. All the proceeds from the 2018 silent auction and putting contest will go directly to Bethell Hospice. Auction items were generously donated by DBOT members and the Dufferin business community. A request for expressions of interest was sent out to local charities earlier this year. The Golf Committee selected Bethell Hospice from those entries due to its important contributions to Dufferin and its residents. Funding from the Dufferin Board of Trade Golf Tournament will be used to deliver and enhance Bethell Hospice's community palliative care and bereavement programs throughout the Central West LHIN, including the County of Dufferin. "Bethell Hospice Foundation is honoured to be selected as the Dufferin Board of Trade's charity of choice for their annual tournament", said Jeannette Vanden Heuvel, Director of Development, Bethell Hospice Foundation. "Community support is essential to help us keep the doors of Bethell Hospice open, and all of our programs and services available at no cost to residents, program participants or their families." Registration for the 2018 Play Local Golf Tournament full-day and evening only tickets is open until Monday, Aug. 20. The Dufferin Board of Trade is still in need of auction items and will accept donations until Aug. 22. Visit dufferinbot.ca/golf 1 to donate auction items or register for the tournament. |
