DQ Athletes of the Week — October 9, 2014


Mayfield Secondary School Manelia Lawton This 14-year-old has been adding her talent to the varsity flag football team as a rusher. The team has started the season with a 1-2 record, but she's contributed two touchdowns. She also hoping to go out for soccer and volleyball this year at school. In the community, she's goalie in Wooldridge Girls' 2000 soccer. The Grade 9 student lives in Cheltenham with her parents Katherine Stapley and Chris Lawton.

She is also active at school in track, specializing in long jump and relay. In the community, she plays soccer in the Bolton Wanderers' Soccer Club. The 17-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Kelly and Keith Northey.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Nathan Clark This 16-year-old plays fullback and middle linebacker for the senior football team, as well as contributing to the special teams. The team has started this year's campaign with a 1-1 record. He's played baseball for the school team and he plans to go out for several other sports. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with his parents Tracy and Mike Clark.
