DQ Athletes of the Week — June 15, 2017
Mayfield Secondary School Hayden Crouch This 17-year-old was the catcher on the school's varsity baseball team which went undefeated to win ROPSSAA. He was also on the golf team and competed at OPSAA. In the community, he pays golf at Caledon Country Club and house league hockey at Mayfield Recreation Complex. The Grade 11 student lives in the Caledon village area.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Noah Ryan The Grade 12 student has been playing striker and goalie for the school's senior soccer team, which went undefeated in the regular season, but lost in the quarter-finals. In the community, he plays rep soccer with ANB Academy in King City, and he will be going to Brock University next year on a soccer scholarship. The 18-year-old lives in Caledon East.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Massimo Galluzzo The 16-year-old played right back on the school's junior soccer team, which made it to the quarter-finals of ROPSSAA. Away for school, he plays with the Caledon Soccer Club. “I've been playing since I was three,” he said. “That's all I've been playing.” The Grade 10 student lives in Bolton.
Humberview Secondary School Troy Neilson This Grade 9 student was a flanker on the junior rugby team. Away from school, he's played defence in the Caledon Hawks' hockey organization, and his team made it to the Tri-County finals. He was also predicting Friday that the Pittsburgh Penguins were going to win the Stanley Cup. The 14-year-old lives in Bolton.
