DQ Athletes of the Week — Dec. 17, 2015
Mayfield Secondary School Kristin Seymour This 15-year-old plays right side on the school's senior volleyball team, which got its season off to a 2-0 start. She was also a guard on the senior basketball team, and she's hoping to play on the rugby team in the spring. In the community, she plays rep volleyball in the Georgetown Impact organization. The Grade 10 student lives in Bolton.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Devon Small This Grade 12 student plays right wing for the school's varsity hockey team, which started the season with a 2-2-1 record. He said he'd contributed six goals to the cause. He's looking forward to playing field lacrosse in the spring, as a mid-fielder. In the community, he used to play rep hockey with the Orangeville Flyers organization. The 18-year-old lives in Caledon village.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Chris Schweighofer This 16-year-old is lead on the school's mixed curling team, which opened the current season with three victories. He also plays doubles tennis at school with Jocelyn Coulombe as his partner. He's looking forward to the spring, and taking part in ultimate Frisbee and badminton. The Grade 11 student lives in Bolton.
Humberview Secondary School Carina Brooks This Grade 9 student plays middle on the junior volleyball team, which has won all but one of its matches so far. She said she's hoping to try out for track and field or softball in the spring, specializing either in long jump or sprint, or the outfield. In the community, she plays rep volleyball for the Peel Selects. The 14-year-old lives in Inglewood.
