Open weekends from Sept. 26 to Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5p.m., Downey's Farm Market entertains the young and the young at heart with their spook-tacular annual Halloween festival. There is lots to see and do at Downey's 2015 Pumpkinfest. Get dizzy in the Black Hole or lost in the Corn Maze. Visit the children's Boo-Barn. The kids will enjoy getting their faces painted then heading out on a wagon ride. Jump on the exciting Jumping Pillows. Race the family around the pedal cart race track, slide down the 40-foot Goat Mountain Slide and jump in the straw jump. Introduce the kids to Downey's Farm Market kids — see the goats climb to feeding stations on Ontario's largest goatwalk at Downey's Goat Mountain. Let the little ones tackle the three inflatables; the balloon typhoon, the super-cat-super-curve and the dump truck slide. Come early and play all day. When the munchies start to attack, it's time to tame hunger with a visit to Downey's Bakery for one of their famous pumpkin doughnuts and other bakery treats. All aboard the hot dog express for a barbecued all-beef hot dog or sausage. Visit Poppa John's French fry truck for tasty fries or perhaps try a delicious pulled pork sandwich. To quench the thirst, try some gourmet hot chocolate or hot apple cider. Before leaving, be sure to revisit the Downey's bakery for their mouth-watering pumpkin pie and baked goods. Don't forget to pick up some corn stalks, straw bales and fall mums. And finally, wade through the sea of pumpkins to find the perfect one. There is lots of entertainment planned for this year. Entertainment will include Oct. 3 and 4 with Juggler Ben Burland; Oct. 10, 11 and 12 with the Abracadabra Magic Show with Steve Baker; Oct. 17 and 18 with John Park, The Funny Waiter Show; Oct. 24 and 25 with Magician Dick Joiner; and Oct. 31 with Abracadabra Magic Show with Steve Baker. Admission is $14 per person or $63.50 for a family of five consisting of two adults and three children. Downey's Farm is at 13682 Heart Lake Rd., south of King Street.
