The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Celebrate summer with friends and gardening enthusiasts for a fun-filled weekend that includes gardening seminars/workshops, guided talk and tours of the botanical gardens, artisans, music, food and much more. Get tips on how to create beautiful garden photography from Cliff Smith's workshop that explores fun ways to view the subject. Learn the art of fresh flower arranging with horticultural and floral design judge Trish Symons. Participate in the seminar, Care of Delphiniums, presented Saturday by Christine Gill from the Ontario Delphinium Club and meet the author of A Recipe for Continuous Bloom, Lorraine Roberts, who will be presenting the seminar, Delphinium Companions in the Perennial Border. Adding to the lineup of horticultural speakers will be well known radio talk show host and horticultural director of Canada Blooms Charlie Dobbin. Refreshments will be served all day under the pergola cafe overlooking the gardens by Four Corners Bakery and Eatery in Bolton. Take in the jazz stylings of local singer Andie Trepanier, accompanied by guitarist Joe Finochio Sunday. Robert and Lorraine Roberts are the owners of this solar-powered “destination” garden centre and organic perennial nursery. They are dedicated to promoting organic, sustainable gardening methods and their botanical display gardens, that showcase the many rare and unusual perennials they grow and sell, are a testament that one can create beauty without the use of pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers. Admission is free, but the gardening workshops are $25 each. Registration is required for the workshops and all Saturday workshop proceeds are being donated to Sending Help And Resources Everywhere (SHARE) Agriculture Foundation and DAREarts. Enter the raffle to win great gardening prizes. Plant Paradise Country Gardens is at 16258 Humber Station Rd., just north of Bolton.
