It will be May 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at Monora Park Pavilion in Orangeville. “Ponds provide many benefits to people and the environment,” said CVC's Director of Restoration and Stewardship Mike Puddister. “They enhance the beauty of your property, and provide vital habitat for a variety of plants and animals.” Workshop attendees will learn the basics of pond ecology, learn how to naturalize their pond for improved water quality and enhanced wildlife habitat, and participate in a guided walk to the Monora Park pond. New this summer, CVC will be adding aquatic plants to its naturalization services. Specialists will assess people with their ponds, develop planting plans based on their needs and plant the aquatic plants for them during July and August. The cost of the workshop is $15 per person, which includes a copy of the Natural Pond Management Handbook, refreshments and an opportunity to purchase aquatic plants. Register by May 1 at www.creditvalleyca.ca/events or by calling 1-800-668-5557 ext. 436. Workshop participants are asked to dress for the weather. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2013-05-01 15:50:32 Post date GMT: 2013-05-01 19:50:32 Post modified date: 2013-05-01 15:50:32 Post modified date GMT: 2013-05-01 19:50:32 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
