Crowds had a good time over weekend attending the annual Caledon Fair




The weather was very cooperative over the weekend as the Caledon Agricultural Society put on the annual Caledon Fair. What would an Agricultural Fair be without livestock being shown? Katelynne Thomson of Collingwood was showing FMS Cosmo, who was judged the Grand Champion Heifer Calf and the Grand Champion at the Fair. The opening ceremonies included the auctioning off of assortments of baked goodies. Councillor Barb Shaughnessy was assisting as Allan McMaster took in the bids.

Fair Board President Glenda Simeone was among those welcoming people to the Fair Saturday. “Without you, it's not a fair,” she told the audience. “It's not fun.”

There were lots of people out to watch the Lawn and Garden Tractor Pull Saturday afternoon. Matthew Boyes of Inglewood was competing in the Pro-Stock class, and he pulled sled 229.26 feet.

Terra Cotta area resident George Ezard won the ribbon for the best maple syrup at the Fair for the second year in a row.

Friday night saw a good crowd attracted to the Truck and Tractor Pull. Andrew Grant of Caledon was at the wheel of this Dodge 2500, pulling the sled 280.08 feet.

The Gaited Horse Show was one of the attractions at the fair Saturday. Sydney Horas, of Onice Horse Farm in Albion, won in the Open Gaited Challenger of the Breeds class on Elvar, a 17-year-old Icelandic gelding.
