Creativity break this March at Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archive


Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) has something for everyone this March with a fantastic mix of adult art workshops, a colourful new museum exhibition and March break activities and events for the whole family.
Every Thursday evening, from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m., join the creative Adult Winter Art Workshops for a relaxing night with friends. Students will learn the fundamentals of composition, colour and painting/drawing techniques. Be inspired by exhibitions in the Art Gallery; all materials included. The March schedule is March 3 — Water Colour Painting; March 10 — Printmaking; and March 24 — Mixed Media. The cost is $30 per workshop for non-members and $25.50 per workshop for PAMA members. Choose all three for only $75 for non-members and $61.50 for members.

Family Art + Stories
This Saturday (March 5), from 2 to 4 p.m., bring the family for fun-filled programs exploring the connection between art and early literacy. Explore the world of sculpture and model something magical, all free with the cost of admission (free for members). Materials are included.

New exhibition from March 6 to June 5
The new exhibition is entitled From Ashgabat to Istanbul: Oriental Rugs from Canadian Collections. It will open March 6 at 2:30 p.m. with a guest curator talk by Natalia Nekrassova.
Explore the history of rug collecting in Canada and learn more about the cultures and people who made the rugs. This vibrant exhibition showcases interests in far-away countries and profound appreciation of different cultural traditions.
This exhibition is organized and circulated by the Textile Museum of Canada with the support of the Museums Assistance Program of the Department of Canadian Heritage.
Family Art and Yoga
Enjoy this play-based learning session that flexes your muscles and your creativity, all free with the cost of admission (free to members) March 12 and 26, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Art materials are included, but bring your own yoga mat. Register on-line at pama.peelregion.ca or call 905-791-4055.
