Terra Cotta was a hive of activity Monday for the 10th annual Tour de Terra Cotta. The event supports several causes, including Caledon Meals on Wheels, Terra Cotta Community Hall, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peel and Ted Webb Scholarships, in honour of the race's founder. These riders were finishing the first lap in the 104-kilometre Elite Road Race

Race founder Webb, 81, was taking part in the 52-kilometre Intermediate Road Race, accompanied by fellow Brampton Cycling Club members Jim Ritchie from Brampton and John Anderson from Terra Cotta.

The overall winner of the 104-kilometre Elite Road Race was Ryan Roth of Guelph, who completed the event a time of 2:34:16, and average speed of 40.5 km/h. Second place was William Elliott of Barrie in a time of 2:34:46, followed by Chris Firek of Mississauga in 2:36:37.

The top competitors among the women in the 104-kilometre Elite Road Race was Saskia Kowalchuk of Hamilton, followed by Sarah Mason of London and Jen Fawcette of Toronto.

These young folks, aged eight to 10, were taking off on the one-lap Youth Road Race.

The event required a lot of volunteer help, from people like Andy Foley, who brandished a sword as part of his marshalling duties.
