Community out for Belfountain Salamander Festival![]() ![]() Belfountain was a fun place to be Saturday as the community hosted the annual Belfountain Salamander Festival. There were even Salamanders on hand. Sarah Labrie, a natural heritage assistant with Credit Valley Conservation was showing off this Jefferson Salamander. Charlotte De Bartolo, 1, of Cheltenham and her sister Norah, 3, were a little unsure about petting it, as their parents Marie and Ciaran looked on. ![]() There were fun and educational games for the kids. Aleks Strasberg, 2, of Vaughan and his brother Asher, 7, got the chance to learn something about invasive species at this fish pond game. ![]() There were some crafts for the younger folks to work on. Jakob Fuchs, 2, of Brampton got some help from his mother Christine as he worked on creating a watershed animal totem stone. His work depicted a wolf. ![]() The 1, 2, 3 Choir from Belfountain Public School, under the direction of Jenni LeForestier, provided some of the entertainment Saturday. ![]() Myfanwy Douglas offered some details about the history of the Salamander Festival at the opening ceremonies. ![]() Angelina Vaccaro of the Toronto Police Pipe Band provided the music at the opening ceremonies. |
