The day saw lots of opportunities for creativity, including at the Home Depot tent. Members of the platform party were asked to express their enthusiasm for the coming Pan Am Games, and they obliged. They included Monique Giroux, vice-president of sponsorship with CIBC; Councillors Jennifer Innis, Johanna Downey and Gord McClure; Marco Cesarone of Zehrs in Bolton; Councillors Rob Mezzapelli and Nick deBoer; Dufferin-Caledon MP David Tilson; Councillors Annette Groves and Barb Shaughnessy; Pan Am Games Chair David Peterson; Mayor Allan Thompson; Stuart Walker, vice-president of gaming operations of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation; and Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones.Photos by Bill Rea There was a packed and happy crowd on the grounds at Town Hall Saturday night as Trooper headlined the Caledon Day festivities. The day saw lots of opportunities for creativity, including at the Home Depot tent. Darren Gray of Bolton was offering some pointers as his son Nolan Gao-Gray hammered nails into the pallet coaster he was working on. The winners of last month's Battle of the Bands competition got to perform at Caledon Day. The No Name Band from Bolton consisted of Jacquelyn Oliveira on keyboards, Andrew Oliveira on guitar, Matthew Oliveira on drums, Erika Brummell on vocals and Liam Gordon on bass. The Caledon Lions were running this fish pond attraction, in support of seniors' residences in Caledon. Leo Valente, 2, of Bolton looked like a pretty serious fisherman. Caledon Meals on Wheels had some light refreshments to offer at the Seniors' Rest Stop they were running. Meals on Wheels Executive Director Christine Sevigny was offering some cookies to Bob Wiggins of Bolton. Johnathan Sousa (Rookie Blue), Miss Universe Canada Chanel Beckenlehner and Melissa Grelo (The Social) shared the MC duties at Caledon Day. In keeping with the upcoming equestrian events at the Pan Am Games, artist David Arrigo from Hockley Valley was working on this creation at Caledon Day.
