Chase the Dream was a success

By Bill Rea
Ominous looking weather early in the morning might have kept attendance down a bit, but organizers weren't complaining about the success of the third annual Chase the Dream.
Organizer Dave Heydon said last week they didn't have the final total of money raised for the day, but he said it would be around $42,000.
The event was in support of Chase Galea, a local seven-year-old boy who has cerebral palsy and hearing loss. The funds raised from the event will go toward trust fund that's been set up to provide him with a better life.
Haydon agreed the weather probably played some role, as attendance was about 220; down a bit from last year.
“But still a very successful day and a lot of fun,” he said.
Heydon and his wife Mariah were very thankful for the support the effort drew.
“We want to thank the many volunteers and the generous sponsors,” he said. “It wouldn't have been possible without them.”
