Four suspects were observed fleeing the area in a dark-coloured sports utility vehicle (SUV). “In the time since the incident, investigators from the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of investigators from Peel Regional Police Service and Toronto Police Service, have arrested and charged two suspects and recovered stolen property.” As a result of the investigation, two individuals have been arrested and charged. Kevin Paredes, 19, Ottawa, was charged with: Theft under $5000; Disguise with intent; Fail to comply with Probation Order; Unauthorized possession of a firearm; Break and enter a place and steal a firearm; Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000; Break and enter into dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence; Robbery with a weapon - two counts; Forcible confinement - two counts; Assault with a weapon - two counts. The charges have not been proven. Noah Scharf-Omorri, 20, of Ottawa, was charged with: Theft under $5000; Disguise with intent; Break and enter a place and steal a firearm; Break and enter into dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence; Forcible confinement - two counts; Assault with a weapon - two counts; Robbery with a weapon - two counts; Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose - two counts. The charges have not been proven. Investigators recovered some of the personal items which were stolen from the victims, including a firearm. In addition, with the use of the Town of Caledon's Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, investigators were able to identify the suspect vehicle utilized in the incident, which was later seized as a result. A third suspect has been identified and the investigation remains ongoing. Investigators believe these individuals may have been involved in other criminality within the Region of Peel. TRACTOR INVOLVED IN IMPAIRED INVESTIGATION Members from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation involving of a lawn tractor on King Street in the Town of Caledon. “On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a Caledon officer observed an individual operating a lawn tractor on King Street, near Highway 10, in the Town of Caledon during foggy conditions with reduced visibility and without reflective clothing,” say Police. “An impaired driving investigation was subsequently initiated.” As a result of the investigation, Andrew Lemme, 57, of Caledon, was charged with: Operation while Impaired – alcohol; Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus); Operation while Prohibited; Fail to Comply with Probation Order. The charges have not been proven. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Friday, April 3, 2026. “The OPP would like to remind the public that operating any motorized vehicle while impaired, including lawn tractors and farm equipment, poses a significant risk to the driver and the public. If you suspect someone is driving impaired, call 911 to report immediately and help keep your community safe.” ARREST FOLLOWING VANDALISM OF PEEL MEMORIAL Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Hate Crime Unit have arrested and charged a young offender after the Tamil Genocide Memorial at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton was vandalized with derogatory spray-painted messages. “On Friday, March 20, 2026, officers responded to Chinguacousy Park after reports that the memorial had been defaced,” say Police. “Upon arrival, officers confirmed the vandalism and immediately assigned the investigation to the Hate Crime Unit.” Following a thorough investigation, a 14yearold male from Brampton was arrested and charged with two counts of Mischief Over $5,000 on Tuesday, March 31. The youth will be required to attend before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. The charges have not been proven. A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a young person; therefore, the identity of the individual charged in this investigation is protected.
