This weekend, Spray Lake Watersports will be hosting the Eastern Canadian Waterski Championships. Skiers of all ages will come to compete in one of the largest events of the summer waterski circuit. The event will consist of all three waterski events: trick, jump and slalom, with competitors fighting for their qualification to the Canada-wide championships, to be hosted in Winnipeg in August. Competitive waterskiing has been making a comeback in eastern Canada over the last few years, which Spray Lake has had a hand in. The facility on Keele Street in King Township also works with non-competitive skiers who enjoy waterskiing for the social and athletic benefits.
