Title: CELEBRATING 90 YEARS

It was a time for celebrating Saturday as friends and family gathered to wish long-time Caledon resident Willa Rowland a happy 90th birthday. The party came a couple of weeks after the big day, as she was born March 29, 1925 in Drayton, Ontario. She was the wife of Hillis Rowland, and had four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. When asked the secret of longevity, she said, “Good genes to start with,” adding “I've just had a good life, that's all.” Mayor Allan Thompson was on hand to bring greetings from the Town of Caledon. There were also certificates of congratulations from Gov. General David Johnston, Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Premier Kathleen Wynne and Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones.Photo by Bill Rea
