Celebrate maple season at Terra Cotta Conservation Area

By Brian Lockhart

You can experience the Canadian tradition of maple syrup production at Credit Valley Conservation's annual Maple Syrup in the Park festival.

Special early-bird ticket pricing is now available. Visitors can save $3 per ticket if they buy during the limited-time sale. Ticket prices will increase after February 28.

Maple Syrup in the Park, sponsored by 407 ETR, will take place at Terra Cotta Conservation Area from March 14-17 and 23-24.

This event delivers a variety of family-friendly activities that celebrate maple season.

The festival will include several special features, such as five educational stations with historical and modern demonstrations of how sap turns into syrup.

There will be free cedar tea to sip at sacred fie chats while learning about Indigenous culture.

A blacksmith demonstration will show how iron tools were hand-made.

Additional activities include a scavenger hunt, a maple-themed storybook walk, and a trail to the sugarbush to see where sap is collected at the park.

You can complete your visit with a stop at the Pancake House for a pancake breakfast with real maple syrup.

Tickets to the vent are available online, by telephone at 1-800-367-0890, or at the park during the event.
