Careers with the Peel Regional Police to be discussed at Jobs Caledon


Jobs Caledon in Bolton (at the Royal Courtyards, Upper Level) will host Constable Nancy Vellenga and Mia Medina, of Peel Regional Police Feb. 19 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to discuss recruitment opportunities.
Vellenga will speak about the cadet and constable positions available, as well as what makes a qualified candidate. A civilian recruiter, Medina will provide an overview of the civilian career opportunities that typically become available, as well as the civilian application and hiring processes.
Peel Regional Police has grown to become the second largest municipal police service in Ontario and third largest in Canada, consisting of 1,957 uniform members and 848 civilian staff. The serviced has been recognized as one of “Greater Toronto's Top Employers for 2014” and “Canada's Top Employers for Young People for 2013.”
Vellenga has been a police officer for almost 29 years, while Medina has been employed with the service for 12 years, and as a civilian recruiter for six and a half years.
