Caledon’s population has started growing for 2015

By Bill Rea
Bhupinder and Preetanjan Atwal of Caledon East were expecting an addition to their family Jan. 1.
The little guy was a couple of days late, arriving Jan. 3. But as near as can be determined, Yuvraj Atwal is the first baby born in Caledon in 2015.
It's a boy after two girls,” his father remarked.
Yuvraj arrived at 4:45 p.m. at Headwaters Health Care Centre, weighing in at seven pounds, 10 ounces. His two big sisters are Munriya, 4, and Bahni, who's a year and a half old.
Mr. Atwal said there is no particular significance to the name they've given his son, calling it a “fairly traditional Punjabi name.”
“He's absolutely healthy,” he added. “”He eats like a champ and sleeps like a champ.”
He's got lots of family in the area as all four of his grandparents live in Caledon. They are Balwinder and Kulvir Atwal, and Manmohan and Daljit Grewal.
“He's a good sleeper,” his mother confirmed. “He's a very good kid.”
He was a little late, but it was still a bit of a surprise,” she added.
Both parents agreed having a baby so early in the New Year was nice, but Mr. Atwal pointed out there are two sides to the issue.
“We were kind of double minded,” he observed. “If he came in December, he would start school earlier, and if he came in January, he'd be the biggest kid in class.”
