This page was exported from Caledon Citizen [ https://caledoncitizen.com ] Export date:Sat Nov 23 12:32:00 2024 / +0000 GMT ___________________________________________________ Title: Caledon Wildcats make it to Ontario Youth Soccer League --------------------------------------------------- After three years of hard work and dedication from both players and coaches, the Caledon Wildcats have made Caledon Soccer Club history by becoming the only girls' team to ever reach the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OYSL). OYSL is the highest league in the province with the most skilled players and teams. “We set a goal at the beginning of the season (2013) to be in the OYSL for the 2014 season,” said head coach Orlin Chalmers. “The girls demonstrated that even a club as small as Caledon can do well and be successful when commitment and hard work is the main focus.” The girls built upon their SRSL Premier Championship and subsequent promotion to SRSL Elite division by adding the USA cup and SRSL league cup to their list of achievements. This was the challenge that the team was looking for. After holding onto first place most of the Elite 2013 summer season, they successfully were promoted to OYSL. With that achievement comes a greater demand on the performance of players. The Wildcats are looking for more players to fill the roster. With the absolute best coaching/training available, they would like to invite any player born 1996 or later to call Bert at 416-998-1323 or email albertcondotta@gmail.com for more information regarding tryouts. The team currently practises twice a week and plays in OWSL Sunday nights. Two showcases and an international tour to the U.K. for the ultimate soccer experience are some of the team plans for 2014.
