Caledon to benefit from grant program

The Town of Caledon will be receiving up to $50,000 through the Rural Economic Development program.
The announcement was recently made by the Province.
The Province is helping communities in central Ontario boost tourism, attract investment and create jobs through the program.
Caledon's allocation will be going toward the creation a Community Improvement Plan to improve the physical environment of six villages in town.
Supporting rural communities is part of the government's economic plan for Ontario. The four-part plan is strengthening Ontario by investing in people's talents and skills, building new public infrastructure like roads and transit, creating a dynamic, supportive environment where business thrives and building a secure savings plan so everyone can afford to retire.
“A strong, prosperous Ontario includes vibrant, economically diverse rural communities. Our commitment to rural Ontario is unwavering,” Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Minister Jeff Leal stated. “By providing economic development support at both the local and regional level, the Rural Economic Development program will help rural Ontario's economy, and its communities, grow stronger.”
