With the summer months often providing some extra free time, the CPL is encouraging residents to take advantage of the many resources it can offer them Through its digital library, the CPL offers award-winning arts and crafts video tutorials through a program called “Creativebug”. Residents can use their library card to log into this online resource from anywhere, and access thousands of arts and crafts tutorials.  CPL Communications Manager Jill Jambor said it's the perfect way for parents and caregivers to get kids crafting, and a great opportunity for adults to learn new skills.  The CPL, through its innovative makerspaces that have cutting-edge tech like 3D printers and Cricut machines, can help creative residents create the crafts of their dreams. The CPL has numerous drop-in programs being offered in August which Jambor said are a great time for residents to stop by and make an amazing DIY project. Those looking to bolster their resume, or learn a new skill in general, can make use of their library card to access Gale Courses and LinkedIn Learning. Through these programs, residents can take courses from trained professionals in areas like photography, design, and creative writing.  Another unique educational opportunity residents can take advantage of is the CPL's programs for language learning. The CPL offers language learning for both kids and adults alike through Little PIM and Mango Languages. The CPL is also promoting local art, and by extension local artists, through its Artful Caledon initiative this summer. There's currently local art on display at CPL branches across Caledon, as well as books from local authors just waiting to be taken out. Artful Caledon has its own website, and any local creative is welcome to get involved for free. Through Artful Caledon, the CPL will also be getting involved in the Town of Caledon's Culture Days initiative which will run from September 20 to October 13. The learning opportunities available through the CPL are endless. The library even has online resources for do-it-yourself car repair. Residents, using their library card, can log into EBSCO and access an up-to-date database with service and repair information for thousands of different vehicles.  Whether you're interested in one of these opportunities, or just want to learn more about all the CPL offers, Jambor invites interested residents to check out the CPL's website: caledon.library.on.ca. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2024-08-01 10:54:10 Post date GMT: 2024-08-01 14:54:10 Post modified date: 2024-08-08 10:52:30 Post modified date GMT: 2024-08-08 14:52:30 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
