There is no cost to enter the contest. The Caledon Public Library has hosted writing contests for over 10 years. Throughout the years, contests were held for writers of all ages, and were run all at the same time through a program called ‘Click, Create, Celebrate'. The program incorporated poetry, short stories as well as photography and was hosted over the summer with an awards celebration in the fall.  “Caledon Public Library (CPL) takes pride in promoting local talent whether it be for local artists with the Artful Caledon initiative, local authors with Read Local Caledon and for music enthusiasts with the launch of a musical instrument collection of guitars and ukuleles,” said Laura Nolloth from Communications and Community Development at the library. “Writing contests are similar in nature, recognizing outstanding writing excellence in Caledon.” CPL changed up the writing contest by separating and running them at different times throughout the year to promote a longer and greater participation.  “It goes without saying winning a writing contest is a huge boost to a writer's ego. Nothing makes a writer feel more confident than having a group of judges (who are also writers) find their work to be worthy of a prize,” said Nolloth. “Through the generous financial support of Friends of Caledon Public Library, who undertake activities to raise funds which afford the community opportunities to broaden their knowledge, prize money will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.”    For more information about other ongoing contests or to submit your story please visit caledon.library.on.ca. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2019-10-24 11:39:59 Post date GMT: 2019-10-24 15:39:59 Post modified date: 2019-10-24 11:40:06 Post modified date GMT: 2019-10-24 15:40:06 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
