Caledon pool company opens storefront in Downtown BoltonBy Zachary Roman Lincoln Pools started small, and founder Chris Hasmatali would work out of his truck and store equipment at a farm. Now, more than 15 years later, Lincoln Pools has grown to the point where it's been able to open a retail store in the heart of Bolton. Kim Duffield, manager at Lincoln Pools, spoke to the Citizen about the grand opening of the retail location and what it's been like to grow in the community of Caledon. “It's been very exciting to open and we've been doing really well,” said Duffield. “This is what was needed in town, to have a store [where] we could supply chemicals, professional water testing… parts so customers can come in and get parts for their pool. We have our pool toys, of course, as well.” Duffield explained Lincoln Pools offers all kinds of different services, from the designing of a pool to its completion, and even the landscaping surrounding it. “The thing we really focus on is customer service,” said Duffield. “That face to face, and having somewhere to go into, even to talk about any issues or anything like that, we're here to help them.” Setting up the retail location, which is at 44 Queen Street North in Bolton, was a lot of work, said Duffield. It was worth it though, and she said Lincoln Pools co-owners Hasmati and Corey Morrison were really excited to host a grand opening, which took place on June 11. “We had a lot of people show up. It was this great event, with barbecue and refreshments. We had games for the kids,” said Duffield. One such game was a kiddie pool where kids could go “fishing” for toy fish and win prizes like beach balls and water wings. “It was a really, really busy day, but it was great,” said Duffield. She explained Lincoln Pools is proud to be a member of Caledon's business community, and that Lincoln Pools is a proud member of the Caledon Chamber of Commerce too. While Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson was unable to attend Lincoln Pools' June 11 event, he made sure to stop by on June 15 to celebrate with the business owners. |
