Caledon Parent-Child Centre hosting fundraising gala on March 1

Disco Daze show featuring Juno Award-winner Liberty Silver headlining gala

A Caledon non-profit is hosting a fundraising gala in March. 

On March 1, the Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC) will host its “Warm Hearts” gala at Caesar's Centre in Bolton.

CPCC is a non-profit that promotes the healthy social, emotional and educational development of children. It supports parents and caregivers in developing and expanding their skills in dealing with children's needs.

The upcoming gala will feature the Disco Daze show, with Juno Award-winning singer Liberty Silver, the Escapade band, and R&B/soul artist Julie Mahendran. When the show is finished, DJ Tommy will take over so guests can continue dancing into the night.

The gala begins at 6 p.m. and features an antipasto bar, inclusive sit-down dinner, silent auction, and lots of dancing.

Shelly Ives, CPCC Manager of Community Relations, said that CPCC provides an important blend of services that strengthens families and assists them in their critical role of raising young children. 

“All proceeds from the Warm Hearts Gala fundraiser benefit Caledon families and children,” said Ives.

She explained the CPCC used to hold a large comedy night fundraiser called “Laugh Out Loud”, but when the pandemic hit it had to be cancelled. The Warm Hearts Gala is the CPCC's return to hosting major fundraising events. 

Ives said the CPCC has been enjoying preparing for the gala, and that everyone has been excited to get back to hosting a large event. She said often people that have used the CPCC's programs come to the event and it's a great chance to reconnect with them.

“We're kicking off our return to gala fundraising with a lot of sparkle and a lot of fun,” said Ives.
