The Caledon Fire Department is once again participating in the annual ‘Movember' fundraiser, as well as raising funs for breast cancer research.

Movember is a month-long initiative that encourages men from all over the world to go without shaving for a whole month to raise awareness and funds for men's health, including mental health, suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer.

The movement was launched in 2003 by two friends meeting in a quiet bar in Australia, and has expanded internationally with millions of participants in the years since.

In addition to Movember, Caledon Fire is raising funds for the Caledon Breast Cancer Foundation by selling ‘Caledon Fire Movember' masks to members of the community.

Caledon Breast Cancer Foundation is a local charity dedicated to supporting women who are suffering from breast cancer. The organization provides financial assistance to local residents to assist with with resources, services, products and their everyday needs.

Proceeds from mask sales will be divided between the two charities.

Masks are selling for $15 and can be purchased by calling Caledon Fire and Emergency Services at 905-584-2272 x. 4303.
