Caledon Day 2024 is happening on June 15, and the Town of Caledon will host the event at its traditional location of the Caledon East Community Complex. First run in 2008, Caledon Day is a free community event that's a celebration of music, food, drinks, art, local businesses, community connection and more.  Each year, the Town of Caledon brings in a headlining band to play on the big main stage that gets set up in the Caledon East Community Complex parking lot. Last year, The Sheepdogs were the headlining act, and this year, multi-platinum album-selling and six-time Juno Award-winning group The Sam Roberts Band will be headlining. Caledon day runs from 2 to 10 p.m. and culminates in a grand fireworks display. Before the main stage performance from The Sam Roberts Band, there's smaller performances going on throughout the day on the community stage. They are as follows: From 2:35 to 2:50 p.m. solo acoustic artist Matt Zaddy will perform a mix of original folk rock, rhythm and blues, and contemporary popular music. From 3 to 3:15 p.m. Starlight Destiny Performance Sports Club performers will display their baton twirling, dance, and pom pom skills. From 3:25 to 3:40 p.m. singer, pianist and guitarist Julia Okoth will perform pop, soft rock, and folk music. From 3:50 to 4:05 p.m. the Humber River Voyagers, an act from Bolton that performs children's songs, will have a family-friendly performance. From 4:15 to 4:30 p.m. semi-professional hip-hop artist — with clean lyrics — Raymond To will perform his original tunes to get people dancing. From 4:40 to 4:55 p.m. indie folk band Wilson & The Cast Aways will perform original music and covers, with a focus on harmonizing vocals and storytelling. From 5:05 to 5:20 p.m. dancers from the School of Indian Folk Arts & Tradition will be performing an expressive dance based on Bhangra and Giddha dancing. From 5:30 to 5:45 local country, folk and Americana singer-songwriter Alaska Highway will perform. Closing out the community stage will be Rush Overture, performing from 5:55 to 6:10 p.m. Before Caledon Day starts, Caledon Community Services will host its annual Velocity Ride, a cycling fundraiser that raises funds for programs that support Caledon seniors.
