It would be hard to imagine a better day, both in terms of weather and activity, for the annual Caledon Day festivities at Town Hall in Caledon East. Famed Canadian musician David Wilcox attracted a big crowd Saturday night for his concert.
Home Depot had an area set up for young folks to work on crafts. Palgrave area resident Laura Chirichella was helping her son Andrew, 4, put together a pencil holder that looked like a lawn mower.
There were lots of vintage cars on display at Caledon Day, including this 1964 AC Cobra, that was being shown by former Town councillor Al Frost.
Caledon OPP were well represented at the festivities as they were showing some of their equipment. Auxiliary Constable Shane Atkinson was showing Nolan Searles, 7, from Caledon East the inside of a police cruiser.
Caledon's Town Crier Andrew Welch helped officially open Caledon Day, accompanied by Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones and Mayor Marolyn Morrison.

Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones and Councillor Patti Foley were among those having pink strands added to their hair in support of Wellspring Chinguacousy and their second annual Show You Care, Take the Pink Hair Dare campaign, which was launched at Caledon Day. The campaign gives people the chance to show their support for anyone fighting cancer. Natalie Francis of March College and Marley Batenchuk of Wellspring were attaching the strands.
