Caledon Chamber of Commerce honours top businesses

There are a lot of good businesses operating in town, and the Caledon Chamber of Commerce took time out to recognized them recently.
The Chamber presented awards for Business of the Year and New Business — Entrepreneur of the Year at a ceremony at it's Bolton office.
Sarah Fleming Realty was named Business of the Year, while We Are Creative received the award for New Business.
“We have to promote business and support businesses supporting each other,” remarked Chamber Board Chair Valerie Arnold-Judge.
“Our businesses in Caledon are excellent,” commented Chamber Director Maurizio Rogato.
Steve Conforti accepted the Award for We Are Creative.
“It's pretty exciting,” he commented. “It's been a tough couple of years. New business is a tough go.”
He added the community's been great, and he's been able to do a lot of networking.
We Are Creative is a graphic design and printing company, which Conforti said specializes in “basically anything in the creative realm.”
“I think my work speaks for itself,” he added, pointing out a lot of his business comes from referrals. “The Caledon Community's been great that way.”
Rogato said people who made the nomination stressed good and courteous service, quality product, professionalism, great ideas for promotional items, etc.
Fleming said she was “totally” surprised at the recognition.
In announcing her nomination, Rogato commented she recently marked her sixth anniversary of entrepreneurship. He also said she has been willing to promote other businesses.
“Sarah is one of those people who supports the community with her willingness to give back,” he said.
“I didn't expect it at all,” she declared, adding it was particularly special because the public voted for the winners. “That really means a lot, that the public is recognizing the smaller businesses.”
Other nominees for Business of the Year were Mars Canada, Reliable Refrigeration, Cheeks Bar and Grill, Zehrs, Exclusive Jewellery Sales, and The Mortgage Centre.
The other nominees for new business included Paganelli's, Pommies Dry Cider (Southern Cliff Brands), Hummingbird Centre, Elegance You Eat, Glam Goes Green and Core Studio.

Sarah Fleming accepted the Business of the Year Award from Chamber Board Chair Valerie Arnold-Judge.

Valerie Arnold-Judge presented the New Business Award to Steve Conforti of We Are Creative.
