Caledon C3 hosts Olympic medalist Newman on Friday nightBy Mark Pavilons Caledon's C3 will host Olympic Bronze Medalist Alysha Newman and her world class pole vault coach Doug Woods at our C3 James Dick Quarry Friday, August 23. It promises to be quite the event, with a live band, big personalities, Olympic draw prizes and the chance to see the Olympic bronze medal. It's the club's once a month Friday night party. There will also be a beach volleyball fun tournament, a paddle board race, a cornhole tournament. Or you can just come and enjoy the beach, possibly win a draw prize and meet Alysha and her coach Doug. Alysha lives in Caledon (also the home of Olympians Andrew Yorke and Ashley Lawrence and Jake Holden & Brittany Webster) and her coach Doug Woods has his Pole Vault School in Caledon. “How cool to have Paris come right back to our town and beach?” said C3's Barrie Shepley. “Nobody works harder to inspire than our C3 Management – Board and Coaches.” It's open to C3 and non-C3 members just for the Friday night from 5:45 p.m. onward. The band plays at 6:30 p.m. Alysha and her coaches will be recognized at 7:15 p.m. It's free, but anyone (C3 or non-C3 members) must RSVP to the link below so the club can plan for food and parking. Please fill in the RSVP form at c3online.ca/beach-party |
