Caledon Area Families host successful Candy Cane Social

Local families kicked off holiday celebrations in style last Sunday.

On December 1, Caledon Area Families For Inclusion (CAFFI) held its annual Candy Cane Social at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness in Bolton.

It was well-attended as over 100 people came out to enjoy pizza, samosas, cake and good company. There was even a visit from Santa, who gave out presents to the children.

CAFFI is a group that's dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals with differing abilities and their families.

The group works hard to ensure that individuals with complex needs and individuals over age 18 are not left out.

Mike Brunetto, a CAFFI volunteer, said he was really happy to see everyone out enjoying themselves on Sunday.

He said he wanted to thank all the volunteers who helped make the event possible, and thank all the people who brought non-perishable food items to donate to those in need.

“It was weeks and months in the planning… I was very happy to see the numbers were even higher than last year,” said Brunetto. “It showed people wanted the event and we're happy to provide it.”
