Café Caledon will hear about local trails and tours

Café Caledon is expecting an entertaining evening Sept. 16 with a talk from local author Nicola Ross (aka Rambler Ross).
She is the author of Dufferin County, Caledon, The Carrying Place Trail and a regular magazine columnist. Her latest venture, Caledon Hikes: Loops & Lattes, has just been released. This new guide provides Headwater residents and their guests with hours of hiking enjoyment while delighting them with tidbits of local lore and the odd bit of gossip.
Ross will describe her Grand Caledon Tour during which she travelled some 122 kilometres over four days. The route took her over the Niagara Escarpment, through seven lovely villages and across the Oak Ridges Moraine. She followed the Credit and Humber Rivers, and skirted the Peel Plain's verdant farm fields before landing back at her own front door in Belfountain.
Café Caledon takes place in a casual coffeehouse setting with free admission and snacks and beverages available. It meets the first and third Wednesday of the month from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. James Church Building, 6025 Old Church Rd. in Caledon East. There is lots of parking at the back of the building.
