Brooks Athletes of the Week — March 17, 2016
Mayfield Secondary School Jake Yeigh This Grade 9 student has been showing his skills as an alpine skier. He was recently 15th in one event at OFSAA and 16th in another, but he was second overall at ROPSSAA. He's planning to try out for the school's baseball team this season. Away from school, he skis at Caledon Ski Club and plays rep baseball in the Halton Hills Eagles organization. The 14-year-old lives in Terra Cotta.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Stephanie Caleca The 14-year-old was a left winger for the varsity girls' hockey team that made it to the semi finals. She said she's planning to try out for outdoor lacrosse this season. In the community, she's a rep centre in the Oakville Hornets hockey organization, and is also a rep player in the Caledon Soccer Club. The Grade 9 student lives in Caledon East.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Jocelyn Coulombe This Grade 11 student is a member of the school's indoor Frisbee team, which finished ninth in a one-day tournament recently. She was also second on the senior mixed curling team, which made it to the semi finals of ROPSSAA. She also played tennis and field hockey at school in the fall. In the community, she plays with the Caledon Soccer Club. The 16-year-old lives in Bolton.
Humberview Secondary School Taylor McAuley This 14-year-old played power for the school's bantam volley ball team, which made it to the playoffs. She also helped out with the school's alpine ski team. She's also planning to try out for rugby in the spring. Away from school, she swims competitively with the Dorado Stars Swim Club. The Grade 9 student lives in Bolton.
