Brampton to host field hockey tournamentThe City of Brampton is all set to welcome players and spectators to the 2013 Men's Pan American Cup – Field Hockey, from Aug. 10 to 17. The event will see teams from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and the United States competing for qualification in the 2014 Hockey World Cup, to be held in The Hague, Netherlands, and the Pan Am Games set for Toronto in 2015. “Brampton is a world-class city and it gives me immense pleasure to welcome fans, coaches and the globally renowned athletes who will compete at our facilities,” Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell said. “I also want to acknowledge the volunteers, organizers and City staff, who are working tirelessly to ensure the 2013 Men's Pan American Cup – Field Hockey tournament will be a resounding success.” The games will be held at Cassie Campbell Community Centre, at 1050 Sandalwood Pkwy.
