Book discussion tonight — Get together and remember this November at PAMA


Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) pays tribute to military service and remembrance this November with feature exhibitions and programming.
PAMA has also announced pay-what-you-can admission continues until Jan. 8, 2017 while the art gallery space is closed for construction.
Service and Remembrance
Service and Remembrance: 150 Years of Lorne Scots Regiment is on until Jan. 15, 2017.
Explore the stories and experiences of the local men and women who have proudly served with the Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment) for the past 150 years.
Join volunteers from the Lorne Scots in the exhibitions space Nov. 20 and 27, from 1 to 5 p.m. as they share stories about their time in the Regiment.
Connections Art and Book Club
The national best seller, Unflinching: The making of a Canadian Sniper, by Jodi Mitic will be discussed followed by a special tour of PAMA's exhibition Service and Remembrance: 150 Years of the Lorne Scots. It will be tonight (Thursday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will be free, although pre-registration is required through the Brampton Library. Call 905-793-4636.
Wartime Songs in the Courtroom
Attend for the rhythm of Swing music from the 1930s and ‘40s this Sunday (Nov. 6) from 2 to 4 p.m. Tap your toes with local, award-winning singer Heather Christine.
Special PA Day program
Be original this PA Day (Nov. 18) from 10 a.m. to noon at PAMA and 2 to 4 p.m. at the Four Corners branch of Brampton Library, and explore the world of design and 3D printing. Visit the Peel based Innovation gallery at PAMA, create your own invention and then print it on the 3D printer. Take a more in depth look at the 3D printing process at the library in the afternoon.
The program is free, but pre-registration is requested for the PAMA session through the website at pama.peelregion.ca
Continuing PAMA Favourites
This November and December, the Knit@PAMA group is inviting visitors to come donate or knit with the group to create kids/youth packages to be donated to local Peel shelters for families in need. Donations will only be accepted to the knitting group weekly on Thursday evenings between 6 to 8 p.m. Beginners are welcome and PAMA supplies the yarn, needles and patterns.
Family Art and Stories will continue this Saturday (Nov. 5).
Create fun and colourful Mandalas using patterns.
Family Art and Yoga will take place Nov. 19 and 26.
Come play and explore the many themes of Yoga, from fluttering butterflies to roaring lions.
Peel Aboriginal Drumming Circle: Thursday will meet Nov. 17.
Join an evening of shared traditions and songs.
